In the world of private client, this firm stands out from the crowd because it has successfully pursued a private client focussed strategy. This has enabled the partners to avoid the tensions that can result from trying to combine other practice areas requiring a different business structure and, frankly, greater overheads. The firm is, as a result, very profitable and its partners are undistracted by the sort of management issues which affect many other firms.
The firm is esteemed by clients and peers alike. Its expansion is never rushed and it is important that candidates want to play an integral part in the firm's development rather than just perform a function. To that end, we are looking for a potential partner - somebody who wants responsibility for files and to deal directly with clients and their other advisors. You are, therefore, likely to have the confidence in your technical skills that comes with 3 years or more post qualification experience gained in a reputable London or regional firm and the desire to pursue a career in private client law to the highest standards.
The firm's associates work for all the partners in order to ensure that they are exposed not just to a variety of work but also to a variety of styles. In terms of experience required from the outset, a strong grounding in private client tax planning is the most important, as you will be working on both UK and international trust matters, often for resident non-domiciled clients. We are looking for someone who wants to be an all-rounder; to hone their client skills but equally to work in a technically demanding environment.
Whilst this is a non-contentious role, there will be an opportunity to work with colleagues on, for example, contentious trust matters.
